Warehouse staff are responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and dispatching goods in a warehouse or storage facility. They ensure inventory accuracy, maintain cleanliness, and follow safety protocols to keep operations smooth.
1. Receiving & Checking Goods
Unload deliveries from trucks/containers.
Inspect goods for damage or quantity discrepancies.
Sign delivery notes and update stock records.
2. Storing & Organizing Inventory
Label and store products in the correct locations.
Use racks, pallets, and storage systems efficiently.
Maintain organized and accessible stock areas.
3. Order Picking & Packing
Pick items as per order lists.
Pack goods securely for shipment.
Ensure correct labeling for dispatch.
4. Inventory Control
Conduct regular stock counts.
Update warehouse management systems (WMS).
Report shortages, damages, or overstock situations.
5. Safety & Cleanliness
Operate forklifts or pallet jacks (if trained).
Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents.
Keep the warehouse clean and hazard-free.
Education: Minimum 10th/12th standard; vocational training in warehouse operations preferred.
Skills:
Physical stamina for lifting and standing long hours.
Basic math for counting and recording stock.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment.
Teamwork and time management.
Licenses: Forklift license (for forklift operators).
Entry-level: ₹12,000–₹20,000/month.
Skilled (equipment operators): ₹18,000–₹30,000/month.
Overseas/Gulf: ₹35,000–₹60,000+/month (plus benefits).
