Pre-flight duties:

In-flight duties:

 2️⃣ Educational & Eligibility Requirements (India context)

 

Basic education:

  • 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics (compulsory).

  • A science background is mandatory for pilot training.

Training path:

  1. Student Pilot License (SPL) — Entry-level license for training flights.

  2. Private Pilot License (PPL) — Allows flying small aircraft for non-commercial purposes.

  3. Commercial Pilot License (CPL) — Required to work as a paid pilot for airlines.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Age: Minimum 17 years for SPL, 18 years for CPL.

  • Medical fitness: Must pass DGCA Class 1 Medical Examination (good eyesight, hearing, and overall health).
