Drivers operate vehicles ranging from light cars to heavy trucks, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods or passengers. They must follow traffic laws, maintain vehicle condition, and provide courteous service to clients or passengers.


Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Vehicle Operation

  • Drive assigned vehicles (cars, vans, buses, trucks, trailers, etc.).

  • Follow designated routes or GPS instructions.

  • Ensure timely pickups and deliveries.

2. Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all traffic rules and safety regulations.

  • Maintain valid driving license and permits.

  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.

3. Vehicle Maintenance

  • Check fuel, oil, brakes, and tire pressure regularly.

  • Report any mechanical issues to the supervisor.

  • Keep the vehicle clean and roadworthy.

4. Documentation

  • Maintain trip logs, mileage, and delivery records.

  • Ensure proper documentation for goods or passengers.

5. Customer Service

  • Assist passengers with boarding/luggage.

  • Handle goods carefully to avoid damage.

  • Communicate politely and professionally.


Requirements:

 

  • Education: Minimum high school level preferred (not mandatory).

  • License:

    • Light Vehicle: LMV (Light Motor Vehicle) license.

    • Heavy Vehicle: HMV/Commercial license.

  • Skills:

    • Good driving skills and road awareness.

    • Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics.

    • Ability to read maps or operate GPS.

    • Physical stamina for long driving hours.


Salary (India):

 

  • Light Vehicle Drivers: ₹12,000–₹25,000/month.

  • Heavy Vehicle Drivers: ₹20,000–₹40,000+/month.

  • Overseas/Gulf countries: ₹50,000–₹1 lakh+/month (plus allowances).
