Ground Staff are airline employees who work at airports, handling all the operations that ensure smooth passenger journeys — before the aircraft takes off and after it lands.
They are the backbone of airport operations and are just as essential as pilots and cabin crew, even though they work on the ground.
Passenger services:
Check-in passengers and issue boarding passes.
Verify travel documents (passport, visa, ID).
Assist passengers with baggage, seating, and special needs.
Guide passengers to boarding gates.
Baggage handling:
Tag and load luggage onto aircraft.
Manage lost and found baggage.
Ensure baggage weight limits and safety checks.
Flight coordination:
Communicate with pilots, cabin crew, and air traffic control.
Coordinate fueling, catering, and cleaning.
Handle boarding and deplaning.
Safety & compliance:
Enforce airport and airline security protocols.
Ensure compliance with aviation regulations.
Minimum education: 10+2 (Higher Secondary)
Preferred: Diploma/Degree in Aviation, Hospitality, Travel & Tourism, or Logistics
Language skills: Fluency in English and Hindi (extra languages are a plus)
Training: Many airlines/aviation academies provide 3–6 month courses in ground handling, ticketing, and customer service.
Typical eligibility criteria:
Age: 18–30 years (varies by airline)
Height/weight: No strict limits (unlike cabin crew), but must be well-groomed and presentable.
Physical fitness: Should be able to lift moderate weights (for baggage handling roles).
Strong communication and customer service skills

Work is shift-based (early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays).
